Is the Side Pirate Ship Safe for Children?
Every parent asks it. We answer from the operator's own records, and we say clearly where a record is silent instead of filling the gap with reassurance.
In short
The operator's record says the boat is run by a licensed maritime crew, and the pirate-ship day includes travel insurance for every guest. Parents stay with their children for the whole day; the crew entertains but does not mind children. Anything about health, pregnancy, mobility or a stroller: tell us before you book, and the operator decides.
What the operator's records state
- Boat operations are run by a licensed maritime crew.
- On the pirate-ship day, travel insurance covers every guest for the whole trip.
- The transfer to and from your hotel is by air-conditioned vehicle.
- On Little Pirates, parents stay with their children throughout.
That is the whole list. We publish nothing beyond it as a safety promise.
Where the records are silent
There is no line in either record about swim aids, a lifeguard at the swim stop, a first-aid kit or a medical person on board. That does not mean they are missing; it means we have nothing written to publish, so we do not claim them. If one of these decides whether you come, ask us before you book and we put the question to the operator.
We also do not give medical advice, and we do not suggest remedies for seasickness. If a child or adult in your party has a condition that matters on the water, speak to your own doctor and tell us about it before booking.
The swim: your hands, your judgement
The big day swims at the delta, where the river runs cold into a warm sea; Little Pirates stops in clear water off the coast. Children swim with a grown-up, and the grown-up decides whether a child goes in at all. A child who is not a confident swimmer stays within arm's reach. If your child uses their own swim aid at the hotel pool, ask us before you book whether to bring it. Our swimming guide describes both stops.
Parents stay; the crew plays
The animation team handles the face paint, the map and its hunt, the rope game, the show and, at the end, the foam. It does not take over the care of children, and there is no point in the day where you hand yours over. Keep an eye on small ones during the busy moments, the foam party above all, and agree with older children where to meet if you get separated on deck.
