Pirate Ship in Side: What to Bring, a Family Checklist
A day on deck and in the water asks for a bag that is light but complete. Here is what to pack, what the euros are for, and what to leave behind.
In short
Pack swimwear for everyone, a towel each, hats, high-SPF sun cream, sunglasses, a dry change of clothes for the children and a phone or camera for the pirate photos. Carry cash in euros, because the fare is settled when you travel and drinks are bought on board. On Little Pirates each child is handed a costume, so pack one only if your child has a favourite.
The bag for both days
- Swimwear — worn under clothes saves a scramble before the swim.
- A towel for each person.
- Hats and high-SPF sun cream for the whole family; reapply after the swim.
- Sunglasses for the grown-ups and any child who will keep them on.
- A complete dry change for each child: after a swim, and on the pirate-ship day after the foam, wet clothes are the thing children complain about first.
- A phone or camera, ideally in a waterproof pouch or a sealed bag.
- Euros in cash, in small notes.
- A light layer for the air-conditioned transfer home, when everyone is tired and still a little damp.
Extra for the pirate-ship day
The foam party comes later in the day, so dress the children in swimwear or clothes you do not mind seeing soaked, and keep the dry set at the bottom of the bag until the ride home. Pack a plastic bag for wet swimwear so everything else stays dry. What the foam party is like.
Face paint is applied on board for free; a pack of wipes helps if your child wants it gone before dinner. If you would like to see the whole day before packing, the pirate-ship page sets it out.
Extra for Little Pirates
The crew hands every child a pirate costume, so there is nothing to buy. A child who owns a costume may wear it — the record welcomes your own. The ship follows the coastline and stops for a swim, and the record itself advises bringing a camera or phone for the pirate photos. The Little Pirates page has the rest.
What the euros are for
You settle the fare in cash, in euros, on the day itself; nothing is charged online. On top of it you may want money for drinks — on the pirate-ship day every drink is from the bar on board — for the professional photos and video if you choose them, for snacks beyond lunch, and on Little Pirates for tips. Card payment on board is not on record, so keep cash handy. Everything that costs extra is listed in one place.
What to leave at the hotel, and what to tell us instead
Leave anything you would hate to see wet, sandy or covered in foam: good jewellery, a tablet, the expensive camera lens.
Some things are not packed but said: a stroller, a wheelchair, limited mobility, a pregnancy or a food allergy. Write it in the notes field when you book, or ask us first; the operator decides what is possible.
Packing the night before helps: the pickup time arrives the day before, and a bag already by the door makes the morning calm.
