Side family days compared
Pirate Ship or Suluada Boat Trip? Side Families Choose
Both are sea days with swimming. The pirate ship wraps the swim in a show, games and foam; a Suluada trip is a day built around an island and the colour of its water.
In short
Choose the pirate-ship day if you want a day planned for children, with a river-delta swim and entertainment from the start, for €23 per guest from 2; babies under 2 ride free. Choose a Suluada trip if the family's wish is a swimming day at an island with the scenery as the reward. With toddlers, a day designed around children gives you more to lean on.
What each day is for
The pirate-ship day is entertainment on the water. The ship casts off at 10:00, heads down the river to the delta for a swim, and then the deck becomes a playground: face paint, a secret treasure map, tug-of-war, a live show, the hunt for the pirate Ferhat, a kids' lunch and a foam party.
A Suluada trip is a sea day of a different sort, aimed at an island and the bays around it, where the water and the swimming are the whole reason to go. Its timetable, menu and fare belong to the site that sells it, so we leave those to them.
Two very different swims
On the pirate day you swim at the river delta, where cold fresh water runs into the warm, salty Mediterranean. Children feel the difference on their own skin, cold one moment and warm the next. Our swimming guide describes the delta and the Little Pirates coastal stop.
On an island day, the swim is in open sea water, and the attraction is clarity and colour. If your family are strong swimmers for whom the sea itself is the holiday, that is a reason to consider it.
Planning with toddlers
With a baby or a toddler, a day built around children has advantages: the lunch is a children's menu, the games give a restless child something to do, and the whole deck expects small guests. Under 2, children ride free.
You still need to pack for sun, naps and the swim, and you stay with your little one all day. Our guide for babies and toddlers covers the details, including what to tell us before booking if you need a stroller.

Worth it, and where to book
Whether the pirate day is worth its price depends on how much your children value the games and the show; our honest answer is here, and the price page sets out both pirate fares, transfer and lunch included.
If the island wins, our sister site sells that day: the Suluada boat tour. Whichever you choose, book the pirate day ahead in summer if it is on your list.
