Pirate Ship in Side: Is It Worth It for Your Family?
A fair answer weighs what the fare buys against what you will spend on top, then asks whether the day fits your family at all. Here is ours.
In short
For a family with children from 2 to 10 who love games, noise and water, yes: €23 per person buys the transfer from your hotel, a kids' lunch, the show and games, a swim at the delta, a foam party and travel insurance. Drinks and the photos cost extra. Couples without children, or anyone after a quiet day at sea, would be happier with a different kind of day.
What the fare buys
- The hotel transfer both ways, air-conditioned, anywhere in the Side belt or Manavgat town — the pickup areas.
- About 6 hours, hotel to hotel, with the ship casting off at 10:00.
- The river cruise, then the delta swim, where a chilly river runs into a warm sea.
- Guides and an animation team running the games: tug-of-war, free face painting, a secret map to follow, a live pirate show and the hunt for the pirate Ferhat.
- A kids' lunch of spaghetti, chicken fingers and fish fingers.
- The foam party with music and dancing.
- Travel insurance for every guest.
What it does not buy
Every drink comes from the bar and is paid on board. The professional photos and video are sold separately, if you want them. Snacks beyond lunch and personal spending are yours. We print no prices for these because none are on record — the extras guide lists them plainly. There is no booking fee and no transfer surcharge.
The family that comes home pleased
Children who join every game, swim at every chance and fall asleep in the transfer back. Parents who like a day planned for them, with lunch sorted and the children busy, and who are happy to stay close rather than hand the children over. A mix of ages that does not want to be split up: one fare for everyone from 2 keeps the sum simple.
For that family the value is less in any single item than in a whole day nobody has to organise, from the hotel door and back to it. The day is set out in full on the pirate-ship page.
Who would be happier elsewhere
- Couples or friends without children: the day is built around kids, from the menu to the music.
- Anyone hoping for a quiet day at sea — the foam party and the show are loud by design.
- Teenagers who have outgrown pirate games; a reluctant fourteen-year-old on a children's day helps nobody.
- Guests who want a restaurant lunch or drinks in the fare; neither is on offer here.
- Parents hoping for a few hours to themselves: parents stay with their children throughout.
If the price is the question
On the pirate-ship day children pay the same as adults, €23. Little Pirates charges €14 for a child and €20 for an adult, with costumes, a treasure hunt, the coast and a swim. For a family with two young children it is the lighter bill — compare the two days and every fare by age.
Wherever you book, read what changes and what does not. Cancelling is free up to 48 hours before the start, so if the day fits, reserve and decide calmly.
